Acclaimed international performer and freshman author Alexandra Silber will read selected chapters of After Anatevka, and be joined by performer and Musical Director Ben Moss.  Throughout the reading, certain chapters shall meet their dramatic climax with an original song written by Broadway composers performed live by Moss and Silber (and in certain specified locations, a special guest).

Thus, this unique event is an exciting and utterly original theatrical event: a joining of reading and concert—or, if you prefer, a "musicalized book reading.”

The program about 45 minutes in length, followed by a Q&A and book signing.

After Anatevka: In Concert featured songs by Oran Eldor and Adam Overett, Will Reynolds and Eric Price, Matthew Sklar and Amanda Green, and Jeffrey Stock, and, of course, songs by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, from "Fiddler on the Roof" itself.

Many of the other songwriters, who altogether created eight pieces corresponding to Silber’s chapters, agreed: Their work was influenced by Harnick and Bock, but pushed beyond into a new world.

Fiddler on the Roof’s lyricist Sheldon Harnick, who writes the forward to Silber’s book, agrees. “[After Anatevka] has taken on a life of its own,” he says. “She took Hodel and went so much farther than Shalom Aleichem ever imagined that character would go,” referring to the original stories of Tevye the dairyman and his daughters written by the Jewish author that inspired Fiddler.
